eBay Authentic/ Rare. Geneva Bible 1601. Author: BIBLE - Geneva version with Tomson’s NT.:Title: The Bible: Translated according to the Hebrew and Greek, and conferred upon all the hard places, and other things of great importance, as may appear in the Epistle…Description:4to 22cm x 16.5cm x 6cm. Roman letter. A close reprint of the 1587 edition (Herbert:194). Apocrypha ends on f.187 . With Junius’ Revelation inserted after the text (colophon dated 1600). In a modern full calf binding. Prayer Book precedes the Bible, lacking the first 2 leaves and title (starts on A3), otherwise complete. The first 13 leaves have been carefully strengthened with archival standard materials, with a loss of a few words from the first leaf. Facsimile general title dated 1600 ( matches a copy in the British library). Followed by two preliminary leaves: “To the Christian Reader.” -1p., “The names and order of all the Books. “- 1p. Text: OT(1) Genesis -Job, ff. 1 to 190a, verso blank. Half title: “This Second Part of the Bible..” Text: (2) Psalms - Malachi, ff.2 to 127a, verso blank. Apocrypha-ff. 128 to 197b (f.187). New Testament title with engraved headpiece and printers cut, dated 1601, verso blank. One preliminary leaf: “The Printer.. “ - 1p. The description of the Holy Land( with half page map)- 1p. Text: p.1 to p.22, followed by colophon with engraved printers’ cut: “ Imprinted at London by Richard Field for Robert Dexter.. 1600 “. “ a brief table..” -11ff., ending with colophon: Imprinted at London by Robert Barker, Printer to the Queens most excellent Maiestie. Black letter with musical notation throughout. Complete, ending with colophon. The last 8 leaves carefully strengthened with archival standard materials. Minor blemishes and a few small light stains within text. Leaf f.3 ( Genesis VI.) carefully repaired with loss of a few words from the bottom outside corner. New endpapers.
